Understanding How to Clean Exposed Aggregate Concrete
Exposed aggregate cleaning and sealing can be a formidable task, and the right equipment is necessary to do it effectively. The first step to cleaning exposed aggregate concrete is to keep it free of debris by sweeping and then rinsing with warm water on a regular basis. If more persistent stains such as tire marks, oil stains, leaf stains or other spots remain, you can use the following approaches.
Removing stains from exposed aggregate can be done with a power washer. Using water and a cleaning chemical that is concrete safe, stains will be taken to the surface and the cleaning chemicals will soften them so they can be rinsed away. After the cleaner is applied, we use a pressure washer to wash away any leftover chemicals from your aggregate concrete. It is important to note that if you use too high of a pressure when washing your aggregate concrete, it can cause pieces to come loose and break down. There can also often be cases where there are stains that have absorbed into the surface and cannot be removed.
